Thanks Pa! All those years with a Pro-Master are to credit.
The Kodak, well, it's getting moody. Sometimes it's happy to work with me, and others, it's an angry old man.

During this trip, it was unfortunately, an angry old man.

Nice post, and great shot of that crazy cloud! I should go back and include a shot of the cloud in my own Mt. Fuji post.

And yeah, I think Mt. Fuji would be much more doable during the day - no more climbing through the night.

Thanks 0rel, honestly, I would consider myself a level design nooby as well, you probably have more experience then I. I'm really just taking an educated guess with this. The idea is, I know certain locations will really stand out. Plus, those sections will really dictate the mood and style for the rest of the map.

When this finally (ever?) moves into really being made ... I'll hold onto the gray box stage pretty much until gameplay is perfect, then to the art passes on the rest of the level. I've heard it done like this from other notable developers, so, I'm guessing its the way to go :)

By the way ... I wish your website did something ;)

Liking the 'key vista' concept. As a level design newbie, I never heard of that 'vista'/'set piece' notion before, but it makes sense to me... I remember my troubles with level design, and its nasty complications. While the level works visually, things in the game may don't work (e.g. distances or locked situations) and vice versa. So, it's definitely interesting to watch the development of this small world from ground up. It's lots of hard work, I guess, to plan everything in detail, but I think it's really worth it! Lovely drawings BTW, give me good impression about how the key scenes will feel like... Nice fairy tale atmosphere there... *looking forward to see more :)*
